The Scandola reserve
This nature reserve located in Balagne, between Calvi and Girolata, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A marine and land reserve, it protects thousands of animal species. You can only get there by boat, access is highly regulated and only a few shuttles will take you there.
Only by boat... or almost, a protected path of 15 km with 350 m of difference in height, the one of the postman who went on foot to the village of Girolata, is also possible to enter this magnificent reserve. You will need a lot of water and courage to take it, once you arrive in the village you can get your strength back at the restaurant or on the beach.
Calvi

The beaches
Ostriconi Beach
A magnificent beach at the gateway to the Balagne and the Agriates desert. It is located about 15km from Ile Rousse in the direction of Bastia. It is a large beach of fine, clear sand, a wild place. It is necessary to walk a little to get there and to cross a river which bears the same name thanks to a pontoon before arriving at the beach of 800m of littoral and its pretty dunes.
Bodri Beach
Often cited as one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica, it's turquoise water and clear sand just a 10 minute drive from the Stella Mare hotel towards Ile Rousse. This beach, which is popular with families and holidaymakers, is remarkably beautiful and its accessibility makes it a great asset.
