The history of the Stella Mare hotel is closely linked to that of Sandrine Levy, its manager.
From the time she was one year old, she spent her summer holidays in Corsica with her family. A childhood love, holiday memories, smells. Corsica has always remained in Sandrine's heart, even when her studies took her to Switzerland where she stayed for 5 years to train at the Lausanne Hotel School.
More than a vocation, it is a passion that is born, that of wanting to welcome, to make people happy, to share the love of a place, and it is obvious that it is in Corsica that she wishes to exercise this profession-passion, in the region of Balagne, and more precisely in Algajola.
Sandrine fell in love with the building that is now the Hotel Stella Mare since the year 2000, its location, its garden, she immediately visualised the establishment of her dreams. This is the place where she can share her values and receive her visitors as she wishes.
This large Corsican house has a slightly different history from the other buildings in the village of Algajola, as it was owned by the ORTF (Office de radiodiffusion-télévision française) for over 17 years before becoming a hotel. Many actors and celebrities of the 70s, 80s and 90s stayed there, the records of the time are carefully kept by Sandrine, and the secret of the stars is well kept.
Every year, Sandrine and her team bring new features to the hotel, renovations and surprises...
